Handcrafted Heirloom
Teddy Bears
made from "recycled"
fur coats

Thank you for your interest in Basu Bears!
Basu Enterprises was established in 1985 in South Florida. The
objective was to create a beautiful and collectible Heirloom Teddy Bear, using unwanted, but still precious, fur garments.
After much trial and error, our original design was borne. Initially, the collection of bears were exhibited at
major art and craft shows throughout South Florida, and also in the Midwest (Michigan and Illinois), collecting numerous ribbons
and awards along the way. This soon led to meeting thousands of teddy bear collectors, but also to the average person who
still had "Grandma Mary's fur stole hanging in the back of the closet! Transforming these dated coats into cuddly,
memorable heirlooms has grown into a prosperous business today over the entire United States, but still retains the quality
and superiority of an individually handcrafted work of art.
To date, we have produced and sold over 15,000 teddy
bears in the United States over the past 15 years, and have worked with nearly every type of fur available. Pictured is a
sampling of our creations from a variety of furs.
